What is the LASIK eye surgery process?
Blade-free LASIK is an outpatient procedure done at Manrique Custom Vision. We offer complimentary VIP LASIK consultations because not everyone is a candidate for LASIK surgery. During your consultation you will meet with our doctor to discuss your best options for visual freedom, get all of your questions answered, and see if LASIK is the right option for you.
The Blade-free LASIK procedure is a two-step process. The first step in LASIK is to create a corneal flap, which is a doorway to the tissue that will be treated underneath.
Dr. Manrique creates an ultrathin flap on the front of the eye with a Femtosecond Laser. The second step in the process is where Dr. Manrique will gently lift the flap and use the Allegreto Wave® IQ Laser to reshape the cornea. The flap is then delicately repositioned and sealed, naturally healing itself within 24 hours.
How long is LASIK surgery?
The laser treatment lasts on the average between 10-15 seconds per eye. In all, your LASIK procedure takes less than a minute to do both eyes. You can expect to spend about two hours at Manrique Custom Vision the day of your surgery. Best of all, there really is no downtime and you are able to go back to work or get on with your life the following day.
